CCSL players have received a PM that we have had to remove some players unfortunately (including missed invites and inactive players with no response to PMs for 48 hours)

The Scoreboard has been updated - all their matches are VOID to keep it fair across all players and no more games will be sent for them.

It was a very small number of inactive and unresponsive players and we have in general had a great response to accepting invites so thanks to all of you and enjoy the rest of the tournament.

I am working on a chart to show how fast each league is playing but until then - League 7 get going please :-)

Over 1000 games completed and all leagues have passed the 50% mark for games completed from the ones sent out, great job everyone!

League 7 has done well to catch up and it is now League 6 that needs to pick up the slack.

Week 1 Review

Guides
The official guides have been updated a lot this week, please take a look when you have time (you'll find them all in the CCSL and CCFA Main Thread ):
Key Updates
  • LATE - you will see red LATEs in the grid - this is for tracking matches that are still 0-0 after a week.
  • Fastest player - updated to be lowest number of Days and most matches played
  • Fastest league chart (= old SL Usain Bolt Cup)
  • Scoreboard player column frozen to make scrolling across better
Technology
  • The automated game invites, live scoreboard, and integrated hall of fame are all brand new technology , taking in the spirit of the old Super League.
  • We can now adapt this technology to run similar tournaments with different settings if there was a demand.
Super League Action
  • Fastest player in CCSL26 in a full league so far is *Pixar* with Steve Grey topping League 9.
  • Popular Home Maps: Baltic Crusades 34, New World 10, Waterloo 8, All Your Bases Are Belong To Us 8,AOR2 6, Cricket 6
  • Slow Maps - we are already seeing Random selections giving us banned matches which are going the distance including Hive Conquer Man, and Monsters
  • Invincibles - this column is being decimated with people taking losses (1-3 or 0-4) - we only had a small number in SBSL25 and looks like will be the same again
  • Defending champions are having a hard time already taking losses and will need to pick things up this week
  • Rank indicates CC rank - for CCSL26 we have new players with a high rank and we will watch for giant-killing action in the lower leagues

Everyone has been doing an amazing job finishing their games! Over 1600 games completed in 10 days.
There are still a few games from Week 1 to go but there were a few late starters.

The fastest player in each league has been changing hands as people complete more games as has the lead position in each league.
Overall fastest player across all leagues finishing 6 matches is chrischris84 in league 4 with only 24 days - that is going to be hard to beat.

Leading the points scoring across all leagues, we have the returning Mad777 on 13 points in league 8.

Domination - players with most 4-0s across all leagues - Mad777 and Sproatiani (both league 8 ), also woolleyy in league 7

Defending champions are getting off to a slow start but it is early days yet.

Scoreboard Updates

  • Best home map players so far with 100% win rate are ggmecock , MrBoom, aad0906, and KAIRO220
  • Leagues progressing well on completion - week 1 games down to last 15, great job all!
  • General Brewsie only needed 180 rounds for 6 matches (24 games)
  • Form - 5 wins in a row for Mad777 but we have some ongoing streaks at 5 for Sotan, and several on 4 who could all overtake as Mad777's streak is broken
  • Fastest Player in the whole competition is Derek the Great who only needed 18 days to complete 6 matches.
  • Invincibles - Jim1086 is the only invincible left in League 7 - but he is 0-2 against theeelspeaks so that is going to be tough to maintain.
  • Points - the top 2 in each league are very close in terms of points so all to play for.
  • Strike Rate - League 8 has Sotan on an incredible 86% win rate on games.
  • Battle of the big dogs (Matches between the top 5)
    • League 4 chrischris84 2-2 v gorehound and chrishchris84 2-2 v MrBoom all very tight at the top.
    • League 8 KAIRO220 finally took down Mad777 to break a 5-streak and Sotan is still undefeated having battled past Sproatiani
    • League 9 Steve Grey giant-killed SoN!c ranked more than 1000 points above and previous highest CC rank leader.

See anything else in the data, let us know - we would love someone to pickup commentary, prize to go with it!

Looks like Sotan's streak has been snapped at 6, albeit with a draw so still an invincible.

League 7 is the first league with no invincibles so everyone has lost at least once.
Leagues 4 and 6 have 6 invincibles left.

The point spread in the Premier league is small indicating it is competitive.

Might think about some league stats actually...

Form update:

Image

This update will make it a lot easier to figure out match status:

Green, Yellow Red no change - win, draw, loss
Blue - incomplete matches
Black - this is where no match has been scheduled as an impact from a resting player or a kicked player.

You will be able to see these in advance every week so you will get blues and possibly a black but that at least makes it easier to confirm you have the expected number of matches.

As always the scoreboard guide has been updated.

Lots of action as we approach mid-season madness - lots of games coming next week - check out the grid to see your next matches for Week 4.

The top 4 have been changing a lot in most of the leagues - the green rows indicate promotions and the solid black bar shows who qualifies for the CC FA Cup (lucrative source of credits).

Positions 1-4 will get varying rewards:

1. Credits, HoF points, FA Cup qualification, promotion
2. FA Cup qualification, promotion
3. FA Cup qualification, promotion (except League 9 which is only promotion)
4. Promotion

The form update shows who is still playing matches (marked blue) and we can see more than half of the Premier league can get to the top after Week 3 games complete.
kongming3 has 4 matches to complete - a possible 12 points on offer and could well end up topping the league after completion.

In the Championship Keefie storms to the top after completing all matches and can only be overtaken by dar2play after week 3 completes.

L01 has a huge battle at the top with only one point separating the top 5. Devante does have 2 matches to complete so may have the advantage.

L02 has 2 outstanding leaders in Gurada and Sparrticus but murphy16, actorday and kj11aw are also in contention. kj11aw does have 3 matches to go so may well top the league.

L03 is topped by hbesh and swt pimp although kgbpizza has several matches to complete.

L04 is being dominated by chrisschris84 - no surprise as last season's L09 champion and invincible.

L05 tough to call as the top 3 have matches to play but bobzimmerman is in pole position

L06 is being ruled by aad0906 who also has matches to complete. There are lots of blues meaning this league is finishing its games later than other leagues, let's pick up the pace please.

L07 - woolleyy is on 15 points after a hot streak of 5 and a match to go, probable champion?

L08 - Sotan and Mad777 are battling this one out both with huge streaks and 3 4-0s. I would not rule out Sproatiani either with a match in hand.

L09 - santymar14 has won all games to date and will take some stopping.

Expect lots of changes after next week with the higher number of matches coming in...

All week 1 games have now completed. Scoreboard is now tracking week 2 active games.

Tomorrow is ...

Mid-Season Madness

Same number of games as the first week , see Form on the scoreboard tomorrow when the games are out to see if you have any skipped games (black blocks), otherwise you'll have blue blocks.

Week 3 Review

Mid-Season Madness Week 4 games are out - please accept invites and have fun!

All week 1 games have been completed, great job everyone.

Scoreboard Updates
  • Top 10 Tab -> Leaderboard Tab showing stats for all players
  • Form update: Image - blue squares = incomplete matches, black squares = no match (skipped due to impact from rest player or kicked player)
This allows us to dig a bit deeper into the action...

Some of you are falling behind - the people with the most blue squares in their Form indicator, we don't want you to get swamped.

Scoreboard Tips
  • How are the top positions doing against each other? - the grid is ordered exactly the same as the league table so you only need to look at the upper left corner to see their matches.
  • Same goes for relegation battles - the bottom right corner will show how the lowest positions are doing against each other.
  • How can I work out how many matches I have this week? The form which will indicate blue squares for scheduled matches that are incomplete or black squares for skipped matches due to rest/kicked players
  • How can I work out who I am playing each week?Use the grid to see who you are playing each week.
  • How do I work out who will get promoted or relegated? The league table rows are coloured green for promotions and red for relegations - these will be final at season end.
  • How do I work out which league I will be in next season? The Next Season column in the league table at season end will answer this question.
  • How do I work out who has qualified for the CC FA Cup? Everyone above the solid black line in the league table at season end qualify for the CC FA Cup.
  • How do I work out my home/away performance? The Home and Away columns in the league table show exactly how many games have been won from the total played.

Super League Action

  • PRE - Clanlord Carl at the top still. Avi8or's last match in week 3 is 1-2 so won't overtake just yet but Mass Miracle can take the top spot due to winning the head to head against Clanlord Carl.
  • PRE - There are also players with matches to complete who could theoretically take the number one position - *Pixar* and kongming3 would need to score wins to do that.
  • PRE - The points spread isn't big so even at the bottom there is still every chance to climb up by season end
  • PRE - For example, emilywink is at number 17 but if all 3 remaining matches are won, then that's enough to take the top spot!
  • PRE - Fastest player is Esquire on account of having played 8 matches but a sub-100 number of days is impressive. Some players will only have had 7 matches as we have one player on rest season.

  • CHA - Keefie has only been beaten once, as has Lobstrosity, very tight at the top. middleton cannot overtake with the remaining match as Keefie has superior goal difference.
  • CHA - dar2play can overtake Keefie winning both remaining matches and is currently 2-1 and 1-1.
  • CHA - this is quite a tight league as well so Ewebasher can move up quickly with some wins.

  • L01 - this league is incredibly tight at the top, all the top spots are up for grabs for multiple players - this also means the bottom positions have been taking a battering.
  • L01 - Devante is in the best position at number 2 but with 2 matches in hand - both 3-0 up so it is a certainty that the top position will change hands.
  • L01 - the point spread is higher than the top 2 leagues so I expect the top players to start running away with it after week 4.

  • L02 - the top 2 players have finished their matches - Gurada and Sparrticus. kj11aw can only get one point maximum at 1-2 in their final match so won't be able to catch up just yet.
  • L02 - this league has a higher point spread indicating a less competitive league, we'll track this as we go along

  • L03 - extremely tight at the top - hbesh is ahead for now but swt pimp is 2-0 in the last match and kgbpizza is 2-1 up so expect the positions to change
  • L03- high spread overall, lower competitiveness but the top positions will be difficult to predict - CC FA Cup qualification is only for the top 3

  • L04 - chrischris84 is way ahead , a previous champion and invincible so no huge surprise, but can anyone catch up?
  • L04 - gorehound has 2 matches to play and is 2-0 and 3-0 up. gorehound and chrischris84 drew 2-2 so it will come down to a tie-breaker if gorehound can win both matches 4-0.
  • L04 - chrishchris84 has had more clean sheets (4-0) so will still be top so the answer is no.

  • L05 - tricky to commentate as there are lots of matches to complete but bobzimmerman is in pole position for now
  • L05 - a number of players at the top have a couple of matches to complete, we'll need to see how these go

  • L06 - aad0906 has been dominating and cannot actually be caught with the current match results (mikehayes would have needed three clean sheets)
  • L06 is playing a little slower than the other leagues - players with 4 matches to complete will now have another 4 matches to play today.

  • L07 - woolleyy is on a tear right now having has a streak of 5 and currently on a streak of 2
  • L07 - watch out for harvmax who is 3-0, 1-0, and 1-0 up - win all of these 4-0 and it will take harvmax to the top

  • L08 - unfortunately we have had a couple of removals from this league and some players have been affected by skipped games already - it will all even out at season end though.
  • L08 - one thing is clear already and it is that Sotan is destroying the opposition with a record streak of 6 wins, 3 clean sheets and one match to go!
  • L08 - Mad777 is close behind - the big showdown is this week!

  • L09 - this league is half-sized so has less matches but expect it to be competitive at the top
  • L09 - santymar14 is undefeated having beaten rival Steve Grey. Both players will face Unai this week, one of the highest ranks we have

  • Leaderboard - Mad777 has got a fourth clean sheet (4-0), very impressive
  • Leaderboard - Sotan's strike rate is 84% which is incredible.

  • Invincibles - only 19 left!

See anything else in the data, let us know - we would love someone to pickup commentary, prize to go with it!

We have had a lot of internal discussion about this and realize there is no good way to handle this. On the one hand it is unfair to take wins away, but the other option is to let the played games stand and the person leaving/ kicked will not play his remaining games, meaning other players will have a matchup less where they cannot score any points. This would seem more unfair. Hopefully this is not a regular problem.

If anyone has any ideas how to fix this please speak up.

Apologies agree it sucks but as shoop76 says there is no good solution for a case like this where a player decides to leave in the middle of a competition because the results haven't gone their way.

There is actual precedent of a football club going bust and the FA decided to void all results as we are doing:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1991%E2%80%9392_Aldershot_F.C._season

Results of the club’s fixtures were declared void.

This is also set out in the FA rules.

The only other option is that anybody who has not played against that player gets a 4-0 win against them. However, that's not fair either. In tournaments in general, including clan tournaments, if opponents drop out, all results are void.

Like shoop said, there is no real fair way (for everybody) to deal with this.

Reserves would be nice, but even that could be considered unfair (depending on how you handle reserves and their results).

I've made a change to make sure skipped matches don't break win streaks.

Scoreboard Guide updated.

Summary :

Skipped Matches (Black squares) do not count as a win but also do not break win streaks

Image
  • Row 1: Black square does not count as a win but it does not break win streaks so the biggest streak is 6.
  • Row 2: The green squares are not broken up by anything so the biggest streak is 5.
  • Row 3: There is a sequence of 4 green squares with a black square in the middle. Black squares do not count as a win but also do not break win streaks so this biggest streak is 4.

This fix is really to avoid penalising players on a win streak due to a player withdrawal or removal.
