A question: Where you say: "Legions can reach distant regions on their diocesis", do you mean all regions? Your example is very clear but I don't get if the legion can one way attack all the distant regions or just 2 regions away ( i guess the first option). To give you an example OII attacks OVII?

It has been passed a while since I stopped to study Latin....I should read in my old school books to confirm you what is the correct case to use. (I already imagine my mother's face when she will see me come back to my old home and start to search randomly through old school books! lol)
In any case, i think you used the genitive singular here, not nominative plural (e.g. diocesis of hispania --> diocesis hispaniae), that's why I suggested you to change the case.
I'm still convinced that Roman used Gallia X, Gallia Y, etc to indicate the provinces, but also Gallia in a general way to indicate the zone (that in this case matches with the sum of its parts) and that the map you used to collect your infos is obviously about diocesis so the diocesi word was omitted to semplificate the map. For example to say "Diocesis of Gallia" you can use "Diocesis Galliae" (where the ae could be "of" or the adjective that goes with the same case of the noun of reference in latin) but also "Gallia Diocesis".
Anyways, also Galliae coud be correct. The word indicates the sum of its parts, romans did this thing sometimes (synecdoche).
But I don't want to derail your map thread into a boring latin lesson so i think you can keep them as they are now (i'll search anyway but it's just because I'm curious to find the right answer).

Yes, I know "the third" is very special declension, although my favourite is the "neutral - 4th", the funniest.

Anyways, I'm personally happy with the map as it is now. Any further suggestions to improve the map?
If not, i think chipv can write the xml and after the official check we should be ready to go.
