I went from Sgt 1st class to Captain over the last couple of days, but it was from other games (8 player seq, stand, esc games in various maps).

You won't see any relevant increase for me, either. I go from private to Master Sergeant (once in a while Leuitenant) and back down again because I am always trying new maps and game types, plus my favorites are highly luck-based 1 vs 1 games. There might be an increase in 6 or 7 person escalating, but I don't have map rank to check any specific map/style ratings.

Made Leuitenant! In honesty, I have to say its because I got lucky on some team/six player St Patrick's games ... but I don't get this high often.

Congratulations on your promotion to Private 1st Class! You can now join public games of all types: Assassin games, Terminator games, team games, large games (6 or more players) and games on complex maps. Enjoy!

At this point you may want to consider enlisting for game mentoring with the Society of Cooks to improve your skills. The SoC teaching staff is made up of members just like you willing to share tactics to help new players get off to a good start.
